Soft delete and restore

Deleting an AutessaDB table is a soft delete. The request returns a short-lived confirmation token, confirming re-checks ADMIN, and the table goes to a trash with a 14-day grace period, where list-deleted shows the time left and restore brings it back.

Deletion is two-step: a short-lived confirmation token, then a confirm that re-checks ADMIN.

-- the problem

One wrong click should not end a dataset

Hard deletes are permanent, and the person who clicked rarely meant it. Two-step confirmation and a trash window give every deletion a second chance.

What you get

  • Two-step deletion: a confirmation token, then a confirm that re-checks ADMIN.
  • A 14-day grace period before the table is purged.
  • list-deleted shows your trash with time left for each table.
  • restore brings a table back within the window.
  • Ownership can be transferred to a teammate by the owner.
  • Tables managed by a connector or an app follow their parent and cannot be deleted directly.

Questions about soft delete and restore

Can I recover a deleted AutessaDB table?

Yes, within 14 days. Deletion is a soft delete; restore brings the table back before it is purged.

Why does deletion need two steps?

The first call returns a short-lived confirmation token and the second re-checks ADMIN, so a stray request cannot delete a table.

How do I remove a table an app created?

Manage the app or connector that owns it. Managed tables follow their parent, so they always stay in step with it.

Try soft delete and restore in AutessaDB

Table deletion needs a confirmation token, lands in a trash with 14 days to restore, and ownership can move to a teammate.
