Autessa QR Codes · Dynamic QR code generator
Print it once.
Change it forever.
Autessa QR Codes is a dynamic QR code generator with scan analytics. Every code is a short link you control: change where it points after printing, pause it when the campaign ends, style it in your colors, tag scans for your campaigns, and see every scan by time, device and location. It is free with every Autessa account for unlimited users, so your whole team can make and track codes; you pay only for AI tasks. It works from your first code, and because it runs in Autessa you can shape it to how your team works.
Scan the poster with your phone: it is a real code.

The short answer
What is Autessa QR Codes?
Autessa QR Codes makes dynamic QR codes: the printed pattern holds a short Autessa link with a permanent, automatically assigned slug, and that link redirects every scan to the destination you set. Because the redirect is in the middle, you can change the destination without reprinting, pause the code, add UTM campaign tags and record each scan before it reaches your page.
It is built into Autessa, so codes live alongside the rest of your company’s work, with the same sign-in, sharing and admin controls, and a full CLI and API.
Static vs dynamic QR code
| Static QR code | Autessa dynamic QR code | |
|---|---|---|
| What the pattern holds | Your final URL | A fixed short link |
| Change destination after printing | No | Yes, any time |
| Turn it off | No | Pause, and activate again |
| Count scans | No | Totals, chart and scan log |
| UTM campaign tags | Baked into the print | Added at scan time, editable |
What makes it different
More than a QR code generator
The baseline is there: dynamic codes, design, downloads and analytics. These are the parts that go further.
Scan log
Every scan, down to the second
Beyond totals and a 30-day chart, each code keeps a log of individual scans: the exact time, the device (iOS, Android or other), the location and the IP address. Filter by device or place and sort by time. Visitor details are encrypted at rest.
- Filter: All, iOS, Android, Other
- Location resolved from the IP address
- Newest or oldest first, paginated
Pause, don’t delete
Retire a print without breaking anything
Pause a code and it stops redirecting, so nobody lands on last year’s offer. Everything is kept: design, destination, tags and history. Activate it again and every printed copy works on the next scan.
Team permissions
Real team access, not one shared login
Codes start private. Share them with a person, a team, a role or the whole company as Viewer, Editor, Manager or Admin. Managers can pause and rename; only Admins, owners and company admins can delete.
CLI and API
Every action is scriptable
Create, repoint, pause, restyle, tag, share, delete and read stats from the Autessa CLI and API. There are no web-only steps, so a code per store or per session is one short script.
Product tour
Every screen in Autessa QR Codes
For your team: the list, the new-code form, and the code page with design, destination and tracking, analytics and sharing. For your scanners: one fast redirect.
Screen 1 · QR Codes list
Your QR code library
Mine and Shared with me. Every row shows a thumbnail in the code’s own design, the name, destination, total scans, created date and status.
Screen 2 · New QR code
Two fields and a live preview
A private name and a destination (https:// is added for you). The slug is assigned automatically and never changes; the code is active from the start.
Screen 3 · Design
Colors, shapes and eyes
Scan-safe presets or any color, a background and an eye color, Square, Rounded or Dots modules, and Square, Rounded or Circle eyes. Then SVG, PNG or Print.
Screen 4 · Destination and tracking
Repoint and tag in one panel
Change the destination any time, turn on UTM campaign tracking, and see exactly where scanners will land before you save.
Screen 5 · Analytics
Totals, trend and the log
Total scans, the last 7 and 30 days, a daily chart of the last 30 days in the code’s color, and the scan log below.
For your scanners
Point, scan, arrive
Scanners never see Autessa. Their camera opens the short link, the scan is recorded, campaign tags are added if you turned them on, and they land on your page. A paused code simply does not redirect.
- 1Camera opens the short link
- 2Scan recorded: time, device, place
- 3UTM tags added, if on
- 4Redirect to today’s destination
How it works
How does a dynamic QR code work?
The code holds a short link. The short link holds the decisions. Here is the path of every scan.
- 01
Someone scans
The printed code holds only your fixed short link, …/public/qr/k3x9a2m.
- 02
The scan is logged
Time, device, location and IP are recorded before anything else happens.
- 03
Tags are added
If campaign tracking is on, utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign join the URL.
- 04
They land on your page
A redirect sends them to today’s destination. Paused codes stop here.
Editable QR code
Can I change a QR code after printing?
Yes. One printed table tent, three menus, zero reprints.
QR code tracking
Which placement actually works?
Give each placement its own code and compare.
Custom QR code design
Real codes, in every style
Each of these works: scan any one and it opens this page. Same short link, different colors, module shapes and eye styles.
Everything in QR Codes
Every area, every feature
Every feature has its own page with steps, settings, permissions and FAQs.
Dynamic QR codes →
Every Autessa QR code is dynamic: the image encodes a short link that never changes, so where it sends people is always yours to change.
Design and print →
Pick colors, module shapes and eye styles, and every download (SVG, PNG or print) comes out exactly like the code you designed.
QR code tracking and analytics →
Every scan is logged before the redirect, so you see how often, when and where a code is scanned, and your own analytics see where the visit came from.
Teams and sharing →
Codes start private to the person who made them and can be shared with anyone at your company, each at exactly the access they need.
CLI and API →
Everything you can do with a QR code in the web app, you can also do from the Autessa CLI and API.

Works with the tools you already measure in
UTM tags reach any web analytics tool that reads them. The CLI and API cover every action. Codes can point at anything with a URL, including pages you build in Autessa.
Integrations →Security
Private by default, encrypted scan details
Codes and their analytics are visible only to people with access. Visitor details for each scan are encrypted at rest, and sharing never leaves your company.

FAQ
Questions people ask about dynamic QR codes
Is Autessa QR Codes free?
Yes. Autessa QR Codes is a free QR code generator with analytics, included with every Autessa account for unlimited users: everyone at your company can make, share and track dynamic codes with no per-seat fees. You pay only for AI tasks.
What is a dynamic QR code?
A dynamic QR code encodes a short link instead of your final web address, so you can change where it sends people after it is printed. Every Autessa QR code is dynamic: the image encodes an Autessa link with its own permanent slug, and that link redirects to whatever destination you set today.
Can I change where a QR code points after I print it?
Yes. Open the code, edit its destination and save; the printed code keeps working and the very next scan lands on the new page. A poster printed in January can send people somewhere new in June.
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static QR code bakes the destination into the image, so it can never be changed or counted. A dynamic QR code bakes in a short link that redirects, which is what lets Autessa QR Codes change the destination, pause the code and record every scan.
How do I track how many times a QR code was scanned?
Open the code in Autessa QR Codes. You see total scans, scans in the last 7 and 30 days, a daily chart of the last 30 days, and a scan log with each scan’s exact time, device, location and IP address.
How do I add UTM parameters to a QR code?
Turn on campaign tracking (UTM) on the code’s page and set utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, or keep the defaults (qr, qr_code and qr_ plus the code’s slug). The redirect adds them to your destination on every scan, and the page shows exactly where scanners will land.
How do I turn off a printed QR code?
Pause it. A paused code stops redirecting, so scanners are not sent to an old page, and you can activate it again whenever you like. Delete is permanent and cannot be undone, so pausing is the safe way to retire a printed code.
Can I download a QR code for print?
Yes. Every code downloads as a vector SVG, which scales to any size for print, or as a 1024 px PNG, and you can print it centered on its own page straight from the browser. Downloads always use the design saved with the code.
Can my team share QR codes?
Yes. A code starts private to the person who made it. Share it with a person, a team, a role or everyone at your company as Viewer, Editor, Manager or Admin. The owner and your company admins always have full control.
Does it work out of the box?
Yes. Name a code, paste a destination and download it, with scan analytics and campaign tags ready from the first scan. Because QR Codes runs in Autessa, you can shape it to how your company works: your brand colors and styles, who can see and edit each code, and scripts that create and update codes for you through the API and CLI.
Is there a QR code API?
Yes. The Autessa CLI and API cover every QR code action: create, list, get, update (destination, name, active state, design, UTM tags), delete, set the share level, share, list shares, unshare and read scan stats.
Where is scan data kept, and is it private?
Scan details stay inside your Autessa company, and the visitor details for each scan, such as the IP address, are encrypted at rest. Only people with access to a code can see its analytics. See the Trust Center at trust.autessa.com for Autessa’s security program.
