Autessa Security & Compliance
Enterprise security, built into every Autessa company
Autessa Security & Compliance is the identity, access control, data protection, secrets management and audit layer of the Autessa platform: single sign-on (SSO) and two-step verification, role-based access control (RBAC), row-level security and column masking, per-company AES-256 encryption, a secrets vault with two-person reveal, scoped API keys, and a tamper-evident audit log.
It covers people, apps, AI agents and API keys with one permission model, so automation can never reach more than the person behind it. It works out of the box for every company, and you tune it to how yours works.

What makes it different
Security that covers the AI, not just the login
Most app platforms secure the front door. Autessa applies the same rules to every agent, tool, script, app visitor and API key, and keeps a record you can prove.
Secrets management
Credentials your tools use and nobody can read
- Exact allowed hosts, HTTPS only
- Two-person, view-once reveal
- Automation can never reveal
Row-level security
One row rule for people, agents, app visitors and API keys
- Closed by default when you want it
- Edits can’t move a row out of view
- Masked columns stored encrypted
Run identity
Automation never runs with more access than a person
Evidence
Records you can prove have not changed
AI data protection
Personal data stripped before any model sees it

Everything inside
Every area, every control
Each area has its own page, and every control below has a page of its own with settings, permissions and FAQs.
Identity and sign-in →
Members sign in through your Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID with SSO, add two-step verification, and stay signed in only as long as your company allows.
Access control →
Roles decide which parts of Autessa a member can use, and every resource starts private, then is shared at Viewer, Editor, Publisher or Admin, with the highest grant winning.
Data protection →
Row rules decide which records each person sees, column rules mask or hide fields, per-company keys encrypt sensitive data, and personal data can be stripped before any AI model reads it.
Secrets management →
A secret is used, never viewed: tools get a handle, the value is filled in only inside an HTTPS request to an allowed host, and seeing it takes two people.
API and machine access →
Every credential is company-scoped, owned by a person and never able to reach more than that person, and minting one always happens in the browser.
Audit and evidence →
Every read and change of protected data is logged on a verified hash chain, every run keeps its history, and evidence can be sealed write-once with signed hashes.
How it works
How does Autessa decide what someone can see?
Every request passes the same checks, in order, whether it comes from a person, an agent, an app visitor or an API key.
1
Company boundary
The request is scoped to one company before it touches data; per-company keys protect what is stored.
2
Identity
SSO or sign-in with a second step; or a key, app visitor or run that answers to a person.
3
Role
Company roles decide which areas of the product the identity can use.
4
Share grant
The highest of the person’s, team’s, role’s and company’s grants on this resource.
5
Row and column rules
AutessaDB roles filter rows and mask or hide columns.
6
Record
Reads and changes of protected data land in the access log on a verified hash chain.
For developers
Security you can script, and credentials you can’t mint from a script
Secrets, row-level security roles, the access log, trigger history and the evidence vault all have CLI and API commands. Creating API keys, OAuth clients and SSO settings stays in the browser on purpose: a credential-minting endpoint reachable from a script is reachable from a stolen script.
INTEGRATIONS
Your identity provider, your authenticator, your models
Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID for SSO, any standard authenticator app, the model providers you bring keys for, and any HTTPS API through Secrets.
See integrations →FOR AI AGENTS
Pair it with the AI Agent Firewall
The firewall inspects every turn of every agent conversation, verifies callers before sensitive tools run and stops data leaving. These controls decide what the agent can reach in the first place.

FAQ
Questions security teams ask
Does Autessa support single sign-on (SSO)?
Yes. Autessa single sign-on works with Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID as your identity provider. You verify each email domain with a DNS record, choose the role new members get, and turn on Require SSO so everyone with that email address signs in through your provider.
Does Autessa security work out of the box?
Yes. Every Autessa company starts with encryption, private-by-default resources, built-in roles, run identity and execution history in place. From there you shape it to how your company works: SSO and the role new members get, custom roles, sharing, row rules and column masks, session lengths, secrets and API key scopes.
Does Autessa have two-step verification (2FA)?
Yes. Each member can turn on two-step verification with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password, or with codes sent by email, and gets single-use recovery codes. To require MFA for everyone, turn on Require SSO and enforce MFA at your identity provider.
How does role-based access control work in Autessa?
Roles decide which areas of Autessa a member can use, and sharing decides what they can do with each resource. Built-in roles (Admin, Developer, Manager, Accountant, User) cover common jobs, and custom roles hold exactly the permissions you choose. Every resource starts private and is shared at Viewer, Editor, Publisher or Admin, and a person gets the highest level of any grant that covers them.
Does Autessa support row-level security and column masking?
Yes. AutessaDB roles filter which rows a person, team, company role, app visitor or API key sees, using placeholders like $CURRENT_USER_ID, and column rules show a column in full, masked (redacted, last four or a hash) or hidden. A table can be set closed by default, so anyone without a matching role sees no rows.
How does Autessa store API keys and other secrets?
Autessa Secrets encrypts each value and never returns it from any screen, API, log or export. Tools use a secret through a handle that is filled in only inside an HTTPS request to the secret’s allowed hosts. Sealed secrets can never be viewed; Revealable ones can be viewed once after a different manager approves.
Can I see who read or changed data in Autessa?
Yes. When access logging is on for your company, the data access log records every read, decrypt, create, update and delete of protected table data, naming the person it was for and the key, tool, agent or app it went through, with the IP and request path. Entries sit on a hash chain that Autessa verifies when you read them.
How is my company’s data separated from other customers?
Each Autessa company is its own isolation boundary for people, resources, data and encryption keys. Every request is scoped to one company before it touches data, credentials only reach their own company, and sensitive data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 using keys unique to your company.
Can I keep personal data out of AI model prompts?
Yes. Turn on PII and PHI stripping and Autessa replaces email addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, card numbers, IP addresses, IBANs, dates of birth and your own custom types with placeholders before a prompt reaches any model, then puts the real values back in the answer.
Can automation or support staff read our secrets?
No. Scripts, tools, agents, apps, scheduled jobs and API keys can use a secret but can never read or reveal it. A Sealed secret cannot be viewed by anyone, including the owner, an admin or support. Company admins do not get access to secrets automatically.
Where can I find Autessa’s compliance reports and policies?
Autessa’s security documentation, policies and compliance reports are on the Trust Center at trust.autessa.com, the place for reports and security questionnaires.
