What is Autessa Homebase?

A human resources information system, built around the people in it.

An HRIS is the system of record for everyone who works at a company. Autessa Homebase is that record, plus the everyday HR work that runs on it: time off, reviews, goals, onboarding, policies, trainings and benefits. Every employee has a Home, every manager gets their team, and HR gets a workspace where the rules are enforced on the server, not hoped for.

One record per person

Colleagues see the directory side; the person and HR see the rest. Every module reads the same record.

Dated, not overwritten

Job changes take effect on a date and land in job history, so last year’s org chart is still true.

Private by default

Pay, reviews, reasons for time off and personal details are shown only to the people who need them.

Ready on day one

Starter policies, checklists, trainings and handbook drafts install with setup, ready to make your own.

What makes it different

The parts other HR tools leave to spreadsheets.

Homebase is a full HRIS, and it goes further where people operations usually breaks down: dates, privacy, promotions, compliance evidence and the handoff to IT.

People

Effective-dated job changes

Autessa Homebase records every job change with the date it takes effect; future-dated changes apply themselves on the day, and everything lands in job history.

Time off

Google Calendar and Outlook sync

Autessa Homebase puts a blocking out-of-office event on your own calendar and a non-blocking invite on your team’s, from your own Google or Outlook account.

Performance

AI-assisted review writing

Autessa Homebase can draft a review from the person’s goals and feedback when the writer clicks, and labels the answer as drafted with the assistant.

Pay

Promotion management

Autessa Homebase writes every promotion case against the job ladder, routes it through an approval chain, and tells the person only when HR applies it.

Pay

Health insurance census

Autessa Homebase builds the health insurance census a broker asks for as an Excel file, exported only by the data owner and logged every time.

Onboarding

IT provisioning with IT Desk

Autessa Homebase opens an Autessa IT Desk request for every IT onboarding or offboarding step and closes the step when IT resolves it.

Onboarding

Apps and access

Autessa Homebase shows everyone against every Autessa app, with their role in each, and lets an HR administrator change it from one grid.

Learning

Interactive course builder

Autessa Homebase has its own course builder and player, with interactive screens, roleplays and a graded final check that completes the training on a pass.

Learning

Vanta compliance sync

Autessa Homebase syncs with Vanta: approved policies come in each morning, training completions go back each day, and acceptance exports are hashed and logged.

Workspace

AI HR assistant

Autessa Homebase has an AI HR assistant that acts with your own access and asks you to confirm before approving, releasing or changing anything important.

Workspace

HR roles, permissions and privacy

Autessa Homebase decides every read and write on the server by role and reporting line, with switches for who sees pay and reviews.

Effective-dated everything

Changes that apply themselves on the day.

Change someone’s manager by dragging them on the org chart, and Homebase asks for the date first. Today applies now; a later date waits and applies itself that morning, emails the person and their new manager, and writes job history.
  • Title, level, department, manager and location
  • Joining soon becomes Active on the start date
  • Leaving becomes Left on the last day

Promotions

A promotion case written against the ladder.

Nominators see today’s level and the proposed level side by side, attach reviews, goals and feedback as evidence, and send the case through the approval chain HR set. The person hears nothing until HR applies it.

Apps and access

Every person against every Autessa app.

HR administrators see each person’s role in every Autessa app from one grid and change it in place, under their own access, with every change kept in history. People who use an app but are not in Homebase yet show up to be added.

HRIS and employee records

A directory and org chart everyone can use.

Search anyone by name, title or email; see who reports to whom by manager or by department, with open roles as dashed boxes. Custom fields carry their own visibility, so a work-authorization date can live on the record without a colleague ever seeing it.

How it works

From sign-up to everyone on Home.

Homebase installs with sensible starter content, so you are editing, not building from a blank page.

1

Run the guided setup

Claim the HR administrator seat, add your branding and HR team, and install starter time-off policies, holidays, checklists, a review template, trainings, benefits and handbook drafts. Add demo data if you want to explore first.

2

Bring your people in

Import everyone from a CSV, with managers matched by work email so the whole org chart comes from one file, or add people one at a time with onboarding started in the same step.

3

Make the rules yours

Rewrite the handbook templates, set accrual and carryover, edit the onboarding steps and the review questions, and choose who sees pay and reviews.

4

Everyone starts on Home

Each person sees the cards for their role: balances, approvals waiting, reviews to write, steps that are theirs, trainings due and policies to confirm.

FAQ

Questions people ask about Homebase

What is Autessa Homebase?

Autessa Homebase is an HRIS (human resources information system) and people operations app. It holds employee records, the directory and org chart, PTO and leave, performance reviews, OKRs, 1:1s, promotions and pay bands, onboarding and offboarding, policy acknowledgment, training and a handbook, with an AI HR assistant built in.

Does Autessa have an HRIS?

Yes. Autessa Homebase is Autessa’s HRIS. It keeps one record per person with effective-dated job history, custom fields with field-level privacy, departments, teams, locations, levels and positions, and every other HR module reads from that record.

Can Autessa Homebase track PTO accruals?

Yes. Each time-off policy grants days each year, earns them monthly, or has no set limit (unlimited PTO), with carryover, maximum balances, notice periods and half days. Every change is written to a ledger and balances are recalculated every night.

Does Autessa Homebase run performance reviews?

Yes. HR builds a review cycle in four steps, then self, manager, peer and upward reviews are written against a template with a labeled rating scale. HR follows progress, calibrates ratings, releases reviews, and employees acknowledge them with a comment.

Does Autessa Homebase support OKRs?

Yes. Goals can be company, department, team or personal, linked by what they support, with key results, progress and on track, at risk or off track status. People check in every few weeks and get a monthly reminder.

How does onboarding work in Autessa Homebase?

Adding a person can start their onboarding checklist in the same step. The checklist is built from a template, and each step belongs to HR, the manager, a buddy, IT or the new hire, with a due date counted from the start day. Owners are emailed and see the step on Home. If you ask it to, an Autessa agent can also call or email a new hire about a step that is still waiting.

Does Autessa Homebase include an LMS?

Yes. Homebase has a learning management system with a training catalog, automatic assignment for new joiners, yearly renewals, overdue tracking and reminders, an interactive course builder with a graded final check, and a SOC 2 evidence export.

Can employees acknowledge policies in Autessa Homebase?

Yes. Publishing a policy that asks for confirmation asks everyone it is for. Each person reads it and presses I have read this; Homebase records the version and date, sends reminders, and HR exports the acknowledgment report as CSV.

How does Autessa Homebase work with payroll?

Homebase works alongside your payroll provider. It keeps pay records, pay bands, pay history and a health insurance census, and links to your payroll and benefits portals from the app launcher, while your provider runs pay and payroll taxes.

Does Homebase work with my time-tracking and benefits tools?

Yes. Link them from the Homebase app launcher so everyone reaches them from Home, while Homebase keeps the benefits catalog, benefit requests and the health insurance census.

Does Autessa Homebase work out of the box?

Yes. Guided setup installs starter time-off policies, holidays, checklists, a review template, trainings and handbook drafts, so your people can use Homebase the same day. From there you tailor it in Autessa: custom fields and who sees them, accrual rules, onboarding steps, review questions, approval chains, the HR assistant and your branding.

Who can see salaries and reviews in Autessa Homebase?

Each person sees their own pay and released reviews. HR sees everyone’s. Executives see pay unless HR turns that off, and managers see their team’s pay only if HR turns it on. The server enforces these rules on every page, search and assistant answer, and dashboards show counts, never amounts.

Does Autessa Homebase work on phones?

Yes. Homebase is a responsive web app: the directory becomes cards, the org chart an indented list, the team calendar a list by day, and requesting time off is a single phone-first column.

Give your people a better home.

Start with the starter content, import your people from a spreadsheet, and have everyone on their own Home the same afternoon. Then make it yours in Autessa.
