Google Calendar and Outlook sync

Autessa Homebase syncs approved time off with Google Calendar and Outlook. It adds a blocking out-of-office event to your own calendar and sends a non-blocking invite to the people you chose, from your own account, so your absence shows on their calendars without taking up their time.

The problem

Approved time off that never reaches the calendar

People get approved, forget to block their calendar, and get booked into meetings on vacation. Homebase does it for them: once time off is approved, their calendar is blocked and their team’s calendars show it, and changes or cancellations update the events.

How it works

How google Calendar and Outlook sync works in Homebase

  1. Link your calendar

In Settings → My calendar, pick a Google Calendar or Outlook account you connected to Autessa, then the calendar to use.

  2. Request time off

Choose who to let know as usual; your manager and teammates are suggested.

  3. Approval adds the events

Your calendar gets a blocking “Out of office” event, and the people you chose get an invite that does not block their time.

  4. Changes follow

Change or cancel the request and the events are updated or removed.

  5. HR calendar as a fallback

Until you link yours, HR’s shared calendar sends the invites for you and nothing is added to your own calendar.
