The problem

A holiday in one office is a workday in another

Distributed teams have different days off, and requests that count a holiday as PTO cause disputes. In Homebase each holiday is company-wide or tied to a location, and every request respects the person’s own location.

How it works

How company and location holidays works in Homebase

  1. Add holidays

    In Settings → Time off, add a year of US federal holidays, or add your own one by one.

  2. Set the scope

    Leave the location empty for a company-wide holiday, or pick a location for a local one.

  3. Mark observed days

    When a holiday falls on a weekend, record the observed day off.

  4. Everyone sees them

    Upcoming holidays show on Home and My time off, and requests skip them automatically.
