In one paragraph

What is Autessa Payments?

Autessa Payments is invoicing software and a payment processor in one, included in every Autessa account. It covers the whole path from bill to bank: online invoices with templates, recurring schedules and automatic reminders; a branded pay page for card, wallet and bank payments; subscription billing with free trials, renewals, failed-payment retries and proration; checkout and paywalls for apps you build on Autessa; sales tax calculation and monthly tax totals; and payouts to one or more bank accounts. An AI guide sets it up with you, and agents and scripts can use it too.

What makes it different

Payments that live where your business already runs

Most payment tools are a separate dashboard. Autessa Payments is part of the same workspace as your apps, agents and data, so it can do things a standalone invoicing tool can’t.

Subscription links

Autessa Payments subscription links let you sign up a customer for a plan without an app: email the link or copy it, and the subscription starts when they pay.

Paywalls and checkout in your apps

Apps built on Autessa can sell your plans with four ready-made components (PaywallGate, UpgradeButton, ManageBillingButton, PlanPicker), turned on per app in one switch.

Entitlements and one-time payments

The Autessa Payments service gives your app plans(), entitlement(), checkout() for plans or one-time amounts, manageBilling() and a change listener, so you never store a paid flag.

Sell apps in the Marketplace

Autessa Payments is how you get paid for apps you sell in the Autessa Marketplace: buyers pay your business, retries and receipts are handled, and earnings join your payouts.

Setup and business verification

Autessa Payments sets you up with a six-step checklist and verifies your business on the Payments page itself, so you never leave Autessa or create a separate processor login.

What-you-sell tax guidance

Autessa Payments asks what you sell, then suggests the tax category, the places to collect in now and the places to watch, as general guidance you confirm.

The Payments guide (AI)

The Autessa Payments guide is an AI assistant that walks you through setup, explains and estimates sales tax, and prepares invoices and settings that change nothing until you click Do it.

Payment tools for agents

Autessa agents can use Payments tools to create and email invoices, look up customers, refund paid invoices and check payout status, and agents never charge a card directly.

CLI and scripting

Autessa Payments has a full CLI and scripting surface: invoices, customers, templates, recurring invoices, plans, subscriptions, tax and branding, with risky actions kept in the web app.

FAQ

Questions about Autessa Payments

What is Autessa Payments?

Autessa Payments is online invoicing and payment processing built into every Autessa account. You send branded invoices with a secure pay link, take card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and US bank account payments, sell subscriptions in the apps you build, add sales tax for the places you are registered, and get paid out to your bank on your own schedule.

Does it work out of the box?

Yes. Open your payments account, verify your business and send your first invoice the same day, with the pay page, reminders, receipts and payouts already in place. From there you tailor it to how your company bills in Autessa: invoice templates and terms, recurring schedules, plans and trials, tax locations, branding, and agents or scripts that invoice for you.

How much does Autessa Payments cost?

Autessa Payments is included with every Autessa account, for unlimited users, with no per-seat fees. Card and bank processing fees and the Autessa platform fee apply.

Is Autessa Payments built on Stripe?

Yes. Payments are processed and businesses are verified by Stripe. You never create a separate Stripe login: verification, bank linking, balances and payouts are shown right on the Autessa Payments page, in Autessa’s own look.

Which payment methods can my customers use?

Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and US bank account. Apple Pay and Google Pay appear on the pay page when the customer’s device supports them, and turn on automatically when you send your first invoice. Bank payments show as Processing for a few business days while they clear.

Can I send recurring invoices?

Yes. A recurring invoice bills a customer every so many weeks, months or years. Autessa creates each invoice and emails it automatically, or saves it as a draft for you to review first. It can end never, on a date or after a number of invoices, and you can pause, resume or end it any time.

Does Autessa Payments chase late payments?

Yes. Automatic reminders email your customer 3 days before the due date, on the due date and 7 days after, each with the PDF and a Pay invoice button. They stop as soon as the invoice is paid or voided, and never go out within two days of another email about the same invoice. Agents can also call your customer and send emails to chase that invoice.

Can I sell subscriptions?

Yes. Create plans with a price, billing interval and optional free trial, then sell them in apps you build on Autessa or with a subscription link you email. Autessa handles renewals, receipts, failed-payment retries 1, 3 and 7 days later, plan switches with credit for unused time and a self-serve billing page.

Does Autessa Payments calculate sales tax?

Yes, for the places you tell it you are registered. Autessa works out the rate and whether your sale is taxable from your customer’s address and what you sell, locks tax on the invoice when you send it, and totals tax collected by place each month. It does not register you with tax agencies or file returns.

How do payouts work?

Payments land in your Autessa Payments balance and are paid out to your default bank account daily, weekly, monthly or only when you ask, after a hold you set in days. You can link several bank accounts and see every payout in your payout history.

Can I take payments before my business is verified?

You can set up customers, templates, recurring invoices, plans and draft invoices as soon as your account is open. Sending invoices turns on the moment verification finishes, which usually takes a few minutes and sometimes a day.

Which countries does Autessa Payments support?

Businesses registered in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and the euro-area countries in the country picker (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain).

Who on my team can use Payments?

The company owner always can, and the built-in Admin and Accountant roles include the Payments permission. Payments has its own permission: members whose role does not include it do not see Payments in the sidebar, and the same permission applies in the CLI and scripts.

Can AI agents use Autessa Payments?

Yes, carefully. The Payments guide prepares settings and invoices that change nothing until you click Do it. Agents can be given tools to create and email invoices, list customers, refund a paid invoice and check payout status. No tool charges a card directly; customers always pay from their own secure link.
