Invoicing · Autessa Payments

Online invoicing

Autessa Payments is invoicing software built into Autessa: you add a customer, line items and payment terms, and the invoice is emailed with a PDF attached and a secure Pay invoice button. Every invoice gets the next number in your sequence (INV-0001, INV-0002 and so on), sales tax for the places you collect in, and your branding.

The problem it solves

Billing a customer should not need three tools

Small businesses often write an invoice in one app, take payment in another and reconcile in a spreadsheet. Autessa Payments puts the whole job on one page: the invoice, the pay link, the tax and the money landing in your balance, so a paid invoice is never a manual match.

What you get

  • Pick a saved customer by typing a name or email, or type a new name, email and address; the address decides the sales tax.
  • Add as many line items as you need, each with a description, quantity and price; amounts are worked out for you.
  • Payment terms are Due on receipt, Net 7, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, Net 60 or a custom date, and Net terms count from the day you send.
  • The Summary shows the subtotal, estimated tax and total as you type; tax is calculated for the customer’s address and locked when you send.
  • Save a draft any time after your account is open; sending turns on as soon as your business is verified.
  • Your customer gets an email from your business with the PDF attached and a Pay invoice button that opens the secure pay page.
  • Voided invoices keep their number, so your invoice sequence never has gaps.

How it works

How does online invoicing work in Autessa Payments?

  1. Start a new invoice

Open Payments and click New invoice, or start from a template or from a customer’s page so the details are filled in.

  2. Choose the customer

Type to pick an existing customer, or enter a new name, email and address. Changing the email on the form starts a new customer.

  3. Add line items and terms

Add what you are billing for, choose when it is due, add an optional note, and leave Email automatic reminders on.

  4. Check the summary

See the subtotal, estimated tax and total. Click Save draft to keep it, or Save and send to email it now.

  5. Follow it to paid

The invoice page shows what your customer sees, its status and an activity list, with Send reminder, Copy pay link, PDF and Record a payment.

AI assist

How AI helps here

Ask the Payments guide something like “Invoice jane@example.com $1,250 for the March website work, due in 14 days.” It asks only for what is missing, shows a card with the customer, items, subtotal, estimated tax, total and due date, and creates the draft when you click Do it. Sending needs a second Do it. Agents can also create invoices with the Create Invoice tool.

Nothing that creates, sends or changes money happens until a person confirms it.

FAQ

Questions about online invoicing

Can I create invoices before my business is verified?

Yes. You can save drafts as soon as your payments account is open. The Send buttons turn on the moment verification finishes.

When does a Net 30 invoice become due?

Thirty days after you send it, not after you created the draft. Payment terms always count from the send date.

Does the customer get a PDF?

Yes. The invoice email attaches the PDF and includes a Pay invoice button. You can also download the PDF from the invoice page.

What if I need to change an invoice after sending it?

Void it and send a new one in a couple of clicks. Drafts can change freely until you send them, and a voided invoice keeps its number for a clean record.
