How Autessa Payments handles invoicing
Online invoicing →
- Pick a saved customer by typing a name or email, or type a new name, email and address; the address decides the sales tax.
- Add as many line items as you need, each with a description, quantity and price; amounts are worked out for you.
- Payment terms are Due on receipt, Net 7, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, Net 60 or a custom date, and Net terms count from the day you send.
Branded invoice pay page →
- The page shows your business name, logo and accent color, the full invoice, and your support email and phone.
- One Pay button opens a secure form for card, Apple Pay, Google Pay (when the device supports them) or bank account.
- Payment details are encrypted and processed by Stripe; neither you nor Autessa ever sees the full card number.
Invoice tracking and statuses →
- Viewed means your customer opened the pay page, so you know a quiet invoice was at least seen.
- Processing means they paid by bank account and it is clearing, usually a few business days.
- Payment failed keeps the pay link working so your customer can try again, and they are emailed a link to pay.
Invoice templates →
- Create a template from scratch, or open any invoice and choose Save as template.
- Templates hold line items, default terms (or No default) and an optional note; the customer is not saved, so they work for anyone.
- Names must be unique, ignoring case, and only you see them.
Recurring invoices →
- Repeats every N weeks, months or years, with the first invoice on any date between today and a year from now.
- Ends never, on a date, or after a set number of invoices; the list shows how many have been sent (for example 4 of 12).
- Delivery is Email it to my customer automatically or Create a draft for me to review first.
Automatic payment reminders →
- Reminders are on for new invoices; clear Email automatic reminders on the form to turn them off for one invoice.
- The Automatic reminders card on the invoice shows which were sent and when the next is scheduled.
- You can turn reminders on or off on a draft or unpaid invoice at any time.
FAQ
Questions about invoicing
Can I create invoices before my business is verified?
Yes. You can save drafts as soon as your payments account is open. The Send buttons turn on the moment verification finishes.
Does my customer need an account to pay?
No. The pay page opens from the link with no sign-in. Their receipt is emailed to them.
How do I see all unpaid invoices?
Use the Outstanding filter. It includes Sent, Viewed, Processing and Payment failed invoices.
Does a template remember the customer?
No. Templates save the lines, terms and note only, so you can reuse them for anyone.
