Refunds

Autessa Payments refunds online payments in full or in part, back to the customer’s original payment method. Partial refunds prorate the base amount and the tax, the refund shows on the invoice and in Transactions, and the tax recorded for that place and month is reduced to match.

The problem it solves

A refund should fix the books, not just the bank

Refunding a payment outside your invoicing tool leaves tax reports and customer totals wrong. In Autessa, a refund updates the invoice, the ledger and your tax collected report together.

What you get

  • Refund the whole payment by leaving the amount empty, or set an amount for a partial refund.
  • The money goes back to the original card, wallet or bank account and comes out of your balance.
  • Partial refunds prorate base amount and tax; Tax collected shows sales after refunds.
  • The invoice shows the refunded amount and the activity list records when.
  • The result reports what was refunded and how much is still refundable.
  • Invoices recorded as paid another way can’t be refunded here.

How it works

How does refunds work in Autessa Payments?

  1. Find the invoice

Refunds work on invoices paid online through Autessa Payments.

  2. Run the Refund tool

Use an agent with the Refund tool and the invoice ID. Leave the amount empty for a full refund.

  3. Check the result

You get the refunded amount and what remains refundable; asking for more than is left is refused with a plain explanation.

  4. See it everywhere

The refund appears on the invoice, under Transactions and in Tax collected.

AI assist

How AI helps here

Refunds run through the Refund agent tool, so a support agent you build can refund an order when your rules allow it, with the invoice ID as input.

Nothing that creates, sends or changes money happens until a person confirms it.
