Payment tools for agents

Autessa agents can use Payments through built-in tools: Create Invoice creates and emails a real invoice with a pay link, List Customers looks people up, Refund refunds a paid invoice in full or in part, and Get Payout Status answers “has my money arrived?”. No tool charges a card; customers always pay from their own link.

The problem it solves

AI agents that touch money need hard limits

An agent that can charge cards is a risk. Autessa’s agent tools can bill and refund within your rules, but the customer always decides to pay, and a retried agent turn can’t create the same invoice twice.

What you get

  • Create Invoice takes a customer email or ID, a single amount or line items, an optional due date and memo, and sendNow (false saves a draft).
  • It is idempotent per tool invocation, so a retried turn can’t create the invoice twice.
  • It returns the invoice number, status, subtotal, tax, total, pay URL and due date, or a plain reason it was refused.
  • Refund takes the invoice ID and an optional amount, and reports what remains refundable.
  • Get Payout Status returns paid, pending, in transit, failed or canceled for the latest payout.
  • Charge Customer is not available: it returns NOT_SUPPORTED without charging anyone.
  • An account that hasn’t finished setup fails with NOT_ONBOARDED.

How AI helps here

Agents act through these tools only; amounts are in cents and every result is a plain JSON object with success and a readable error message.

Nothing that creates, sends or changes money happens until a person confirms it.
