Custom colors and branded QR codes
Autessa QR Codes lets you make branded QR codes: choose the code color from scan-safe presets or any custom color, set the background, and give the three corner eyes their own color. The design is saved with the code, so every later download matches the print.
The problem
Plain black squares do not look like your brand
A QR code is often the largest graphic on a poster or package, and a stock black-and-white square can clash with everything around it. A custom QR code design in your own colors looks intentional. The catch is keeping it scannable, which is why the presets are dark, high-contrast shades first.
FROM THE PRINT SHOP
Keep the code darker than its background. Dark-on-light is what phone cameras expect, and the presets are ordered darkest first for that reason.
What you get
- Eight color presets: ink, deep lavender, lavender, deep sky, light blue, muted red, muted teal and muted amber.
- Any custom color through the color picker.
- A background color, white by default.
- A separate eye color for the three corner finder patterns, so the eyes can carry an accent.
- New codes start in deep lavender on white, chosen to stay reliably scannable.
- Save design stores the style with the code, so a download next year comes out exactly the same.
- The large preview updates as you change each setting, before you save.
How it works
How does custom colors and branded QR codes work?
Open the code’s Design panel
It sits under the code preview, next to the download buttons.
Pick colors
Choose a preset or a custom color for the code, then the background and the eye color.
Check the preview
The preview shows exactly what will be downloaded or printed.
Save design
The design is stored with the code; every SVG, PNG and print uses it from now on.

FAQ
Questions about custom colors and branded QR codes
Can I make a QR code in my brand colors?
Yes. Pick a preset or any custom color for the code, set the background, and choose a separate eye color if you want an accent.
Will a colored QR code still scan?
Yes, as long as the code stays clearly darker than its background. The presets are dark, high-contrast colors chosen for reliable scanning, and codes are built with error-correction level M.
Does changing the design change the link?
No. The design only changes how the code looks. The short link it encodes stays the same, so old prints keep working.
