Automatic resume

Autessa Synthetic Data resumes stalled jobs automatically. If a job stops making progress, Autessa picks it up where it left off, keeps every finished batch and redoes only the interrupted one, with no action from you.

Wrote 1,200 rows into the target table.

A worker stopped responding during this job, so it was resumed once; finished batches were kept each time.

The problem

Long jobs should not die silently

Background work sometimes stalls: a worker restarts or a message is lost. In many tools that leaves a job stuck "running" forever, and someone has to notice, cancel and start again.

What you get

  • Workers report progress after every model call.
  • A job with no progress for a while is marked as stalled and resumed automatically.
  • Opening or polling the job also triggers the check.
  • Finished batches are kept; only the interrupted batch is redone.
  • Jobs that were writing finish writing approved rows or assembling the file.
  • After repeated stalls the job finishes with the rows it has rather than losing them.
  • Resumes are explained in plain words on the job page.

How it works

How does automatic resume work?

  1. Notice

Autessa checks for jobs that should be working but have stopped making progress.

  2. Take over

The job is safely taken over so it is never resumed twice.

  3. Resume

Generation restarts with fresh workers; finished batches stay.

  4. Explain

The job page shows "Resuming…" while it happens and a note on how many times the job was resumed.

FAQ

Questions about automatic resume

Do I need to do anything when a job stalls?

No. It is resumed automatically, and opening the job page also prompts a check.

Can a resume write the same rows twice?

No. Batches already written are kept and not written again. A batch interrupted mid-write is not rewritten.

What if a job keeps stalling?

After a few resumes it finishes with the rows it has, as partially completed, rather than looping forever.
