Security, privacy and permissions
How Autessa Roleplay protects practice sessions and scores
Autessa Roleplay keeps practice private to the trainee and their coaches: trainees open only their own reports, hidden briefs stay with authors, every coach adjustment is recorded beside the AI score, and access is governed by roles and permissions you configure.
Controls
What is protected, and how?
| Area | How it works |
|---|---|
| Who can open a report | A trainee can only open their own sessions. Opening someone else's shows "This session belongs to someone else" instead of the report. Coaches need the see everybody's sessions permission. |
| Hidden briefs and tells | Shown only to people who can author content. Trainees never see what the character is holding back. |
| Permissions | Fine-grained permissions on configurable roles. The sidebar hides pages a role cannot use, and disabled buttons explain why. |
| Score history | AI scores are never rewritten. Coach adjustments are separate records with both values, the reason, the coach and the time. |
| Rubric history | Each session is read with the rubric it was scored against, so editing a rubric never changes what an old report means. |
| People | People sign in with their Autessa account. Deactivated members keep their history but are never offered for new work. |
| Microphone | The mic check opens its own short-lived stream and closes it; the microphone is used during a live voice session. |
| Recordings and transcripts | Stored with the session in your Autessa account and shown on the report to the trainee and to coaches. |
| Starter content | The installer only adds missing items and never updates or deletes anything you changed. |
| Deactivate, not delete | Scenarios, characters and rubrics are turned off rather than deleted, so past reports stay intact. |
On the record
Is every score change auditable?
Yes. An adjustment never overwrites the AI score; it is a separate record carrying the original value, the new value, the reason, the coach and the time, shown on the report as both scores.

Questions
Security questions
Can trainees see each other's scores?
No. A trainee can only open their own session reports. Team readiness and the sessions list are for people with the see everybody's sessions permission.
Can a coach quietly change a score?
No. Adjustments are stored beside the original AI score with a required reason, the coach's name and the time, and the trainee sees both.
Where can I read about Autessa's security and compliance?
