Lost answers and how to win them
Autessa Visibility shows who wins when you don’t: the competitors named in the answers that leave you out, and how often. Every answer you lost opens to an AI analysis with two parts, why others were chosen and what to do, so each gap comes with a concrete next step.
The problem
Knowing you lost is not the same as knowing why
A red cell in a matrix tells you that an engine skipped you. It does not tell you that the answer leaned on two listicles that rank a rival first. “Who wins when you don’t” and the per-answer analysis close that gap.
What you get
- Competitors ranked by how often they appear in answers that leave you out.
- “You’re in every answer” or “No tracked competitor fills the gap” when there is nothing to win back.
- Click a row for the full answer and “How to win this answer”.
- The analysis has two parts: Why others were chosen, and What to do.
- For Google keywords, the same panel explains how to rank higher.
- A “Lost to” column per prompt on the Prompts page.

Where AI helps, and where it doesn’t
The analysis is written by the Visibility Strategist from the answer, its citations and your brand profile. It explains and recommends; the scores themselves come from the app.
Scores, positions, citations and ranks are always computed by the app from the answer text, never by an AI.

FAQ
Questions about lost answers and how to win them
How do I win an AI answer my competitor owns?
Open the answer in Visibility and choose AI analysis. It explains why others were chosen, often the sources cited, and lists what to do, such as getting listed on those sources or publishing a page that answers the question.
What does “Lost to” mean?
The tracked competitor most often named in the answers to that prompt that leave you out.
Is the analysis automatic?
No. You open an answer and generate it, so you only spend AI tasks on the answers you care about.
