Change calendar and conflict detection
Autessa IT Desk includes a change calendar that shows every scheduled change by month or week, with blackout days marked. Its conflict check warns when two changes touch the same configuration item, or one of each other's affected items, in overlapping windows, and when a change falls inside a blackout window.
The problem
Two teams, one server, the same Saturday night
Change collisions happen when the network team and the app team both pick the quiet weekend. A shared change calendar makes the schedule visible to everyone who plans, and an automatic conflict check catches the clash before the CAB meets.
What you get
- Month and week views, with weeks starting on Monday and dates in your own time zone.
- Each change shows its number, short description, type, risk and state on the day it runs.
- Blackout windows set by an IT administrator are marked on the calendar.
- Conflicts are found on the main configuration item and every affected configuration item in overlapping planned windows.
- The conflict panel on the change form lists every clash before you schedule.
- Approvers can open the calendar too, so CAB members see the whole schedule.
How it works
How does change calendar and conflict detection work in Autessa IT Desk?
Plan the window
On the change, set the planned start and end and add every affected configuration item.
Check for conflicts
The conflict panel lists other changes on the same items in overlapping windows, and any blackout window the change falls in.
See the whole schedule
Open Change calendar from the navigator and switch between month and week to see what else is planned.
Move or approve
Move the window or ask the CAB to approve the overlap with full knowledge.

AI assist
How the IT Desk Assistant helps
Ask the IT Desk Assistant what else is scheduled in this change's window, or to list next week's high-risk changes.
The assistant acts as you, with your role. It fills forms but never saves them, and anything risky waits for you to press Confirm.

FAQ
Questions about change calendar and conflict detection
How does Autessa IT Desk detect change conflicts?
It compares each change's planned window and configuration items with every other scheduled change. Two changes on the same item, or an affected item, in overlapping windows are a conflict.
Can I block changes during busy periods?
You can define blackout windows. A change planned inside one is flagged as a conflict on the change and marked on the calendar.
Who can see the change calendar?
IT agents and approvers. CAB members can look at the whole schedule while they review a change.
