Starter code per language
Each question can carry separate Python and Java starter code, and the candidate’s editor opens with it in whichever language they pick.
// the problem
Why starter code per language matters in a coding interview
Candidates waste the first minutes of a coding interview writing boilerplate: a class, a main method, a function signature. Starter code lets them get to the problem.
// how it works
How does starter code per language work?
Write starter code per language
Each question has a Python 3.12 editor and a Java 21 editor with full syntax highlighting.
Leave a language empty if you like
An empty starter means the candidate starts from a blank editor in that language.
It seeds every session
When the question is added to a session, each allowed language’s document starts from its starter code.

Who can do what?
Company admins decide who on your team can open the interviewer console. Candidates never sign in; they only ever use their session link.

Question editor with Markdown
Questions are written in Markdown with headings, bold, inline code, code blocks and lists, with a side-by-side preview of exactly what the candidate will read.
Explore →Run Python and Java code
Autessa Technical Interviews runs Python 3.12 and Java 21 code in the browser during the interview, with numpy, pandas, Guava, Gson and other common libraries preinstalled.
Explore →Collaborative code editor
Autessa Technical Interviews includes a collaborative code editor: interviewer and candidate edit one shared file in real time, and each person’s cursor stays put when the other types.

Starter code per language: questions
Can a question have different starter code for Python and Java?
Yes. Each language has its own starter code, and either can be left empty.
How does Java starter code run?
As a single file; the first top-level class runs, so a public class Main with a main method is the usual shape.
Does a blank question have starter code?
No. Blank questions added during an interview start from an empty editor.
