Pauses between scenes
Autessa Video Studio adds pauses between scenes so narration can breathe. Set a project-wide pause from 0 to 3 seconds, because AI voices often run fast, and override it on any scene.
The problem
AI voices rush from line to line
Text-to-speech often reads one sentence straight into the next, which makes a video feel breathless and gives viewers no time to read the captions. Video Studio adds exact silence after scenes, and keeps captions out of the pause.
Where it happens
What you get
- One "Pause between scenes" default for the whole project, 0 to 3 seconds.
- Per-scene overrides, or Auto to inherit the default.
- Exact silence is added after the scene; captions stay timed to the words.
- The total length and pacing analysis include the pauses.
- Free to change; no AI is involved.

FAQ
Questions about pauses between scenes
How do I add a pause between scenes?
Set "Pause between scenes" in the Voiceover stage, from 0 to 3 seconds, and override it per scene if needed.
Do pauses change caption timing?
No. Captions stay timed to the spoken words and do not run into the pause.
Can a video with no voiceover use pauses?
Yes. For scenes without a voice, the hold time sets how long the scene stays on screen.
