Progress and significance testing

Autessa Visibility tracks AI visibility progress over time with significance testing. The Progress page shows visibility, share of voice, average position, sentiment and citation coverage period by period, from your first check to now, and marks a change as real only when it is bigger than normal answer-to-answer variation at 95% confidence.

The problem

AI answers are noisy, so most “wins” are not

Ask the same engine the same question twice and you can get a different list. A few points of movement is often just that noise. Visibility uses a two-proportion test at 95% confidence and refuses to call a change when there are too few checks, so a report never celebrates a coin flip.

What you get

  • Ranges: 12 weeks, 6 months or 12 months, by week or by month.
  • Every metric: visibility, share of voice, average position, sentiment and citation coverage.
  • Each period against the one before it; a bold arrow means a real change at 95% confidence.
  • Verdicts: real change, within normal variation, or too few checks to tell (fewer than 8 checks on either side).
  • Margins of error from a 95% Wilson interval.
  • Timeline events on the chart, and a table of periods with answers checked and each metric.
  • Export progress as CSV.

How it works

FAQ

Questions about progress and significance testing

How do I know if my AI visibility really improved?

Use the Progress page. It compares each period with the one before using a test at 95% confidence and marks a change as real only when it beats normal answer-to-answer variation.

Why does it say “too few checks to tell”?

Because either period has fewer than 8 checks, which is not enough to separate a real change from noise. Turn on daily schedules to collect more.

Can I export the history?

Yes, as a CSV with every period and metric.
