Track cards from any bank
Autessa Accounting tracks company cards from any bank, Amex, Chase, Brex, a debit card, anything, alongside Mercury cards. Each tracked card gets its last four digits, a department, a limit Accounting watches and alerts on, and statements you upload that are coded and counted against the budget like any other charge.
The problem
Most startups have more than one card program
Spend management tools often only see the cards they issue, so the founder’s Amex and the old bank debit card fall outside every budget. Tracked cards bring every card into the same departments, coding and budgets, honestly labeled for what Accounting can and cannot control.
What you get
- Track a card from any bank with its last four digits, a department, a limit and an optional project and default category.
- Upload that card’s statements as CSV, Excel or PDF; each file is matched to the card by its last four digits.
- Charges are coded in the same order as Mercury charges: the card’s defaults, then merchant rules, then an AI suggestion.
- A tracked card’s limit is tracked, not enforced: Accounting watches spend against it and alerts you, but only the bank can block a charge.
- Over budget, Home shows a clear action such as “Freeze this card at Amex”.
- Home also flags a tracked card or account that has no statement covering last month.
- You can track an agent card from another provider, such as Privacy.com, for rules and alerts.
How it works
How does track cards from any bank work in Autessa Accounting?
Add the card
Choose Add a card, then Track a card from any bank. Give it the last four digits, an issuer, a department and a limit.
Upload its statements
Drop the monthly statement on Upload statements. Accounting recognizes the layout, matches the card and checks the statement’s arithmetic before saving.
Review and post
Charges land in the review inbox already coded to the card’s department. Approve them and post them to the ledger.
Act at the issuer when needed
If the department goes over, Home tells you to freeze the card with its issuer, because Accounting cannot block another bank’s card.

FAQ
Questions about track cards from any bank
Can I use Autessa Accounting without Mercury?
Yes. Track cards from any bank and upload their statements. Review, budgets, the ledger, reconciliation, close and reports all work the same.
How does Accounting control spend on my Amex?
Accounting watches spend against the card’s limit and tells you the moment to freeze it at the bank, so tracked cards stay inside the budget too.
How does a statement find the right card?
By the last four digits printed on it, then by names. Accounting asks you only when it is unsure.
