THE PROBLEM

You can’t review what you don’t know changed

A big knowledge base can’t be re-read every week. Autodocs tells you exactly which steps of which guides the website no longer matches.

After a run, a doc says which steps no longer matched the site: healed, failed or not reached. Every other step is confirmed as still matching.

How it works

How does website change notes work in Autodocs?

  1. 1

A run compares the site to the recording

Step by step, as it replays.

  2. 2

    Drift is noted per step

Healed (the element had to be found by AI), failed, or not reached.

  3. 3

    The doc shows it

“Changed on the site, worth a look: Step 4: healed.” Or “Every step matched the site.”

  4. 4

    Review and edit

Open the guide, check the step, edit the wording if needed.

Where AI helps

AI is used where it saves you work and is always visible: it writes the guide from your recording, and it finds elements that moved during a replay, marking those steps healed. You stay in charge of what gets published.

FAQ

Website change notes: questions

How do I know when a website change breaks my docs?

After each run, the Autodocs guide lists the steps where the site no longer matched the recording, marked healed, failed or not reached.

Can I see change notes outside the app?

Yes. `autessa autodocs list` returns each doc’s last refresh time and its changed steps.

Does a heal mean the guide is wrong?

Not always. It means the element changed, for example a renamed button, so the guide’s wording deserves a quick look.

Try website change notes on a task you do every week.

Record it once in Autodocs. You get the guide for your team and the workflow for next time.
