Autodocs keeps guides current by re-shooting their screenshots every time the workflow runs and flagging the steps where the site has changed.

How do I keep documentation screenshots up to date?

Run the workflow. Each run of an Autodocs workflow re-shoots every step and refreshes the screenshots in every doc written from it, then lists the steps where the site changed.

Documentation goes stale because nothing tells you when the product it describes changes. In Autodocs, the workflow behind each guide is that signal.

Every run refreshes the guide’s pictures in the background and adds a note: “Every step matched the site”, or the steps that were healed, failed or not reached. Your team reviews exactly those steps, nothing more.
