E-signature API and CLI
Autessa Document Signing has an e-signature API. The Poweruser API exposes envelopes, templates and folders over HTTPS at https://api.autessa.com/autessa_poweruser/e-signature, and the Autessa CLI lists, inspects, downloads and files envelopes from a terminal. Envelopes made either way are identical to ones made in the app.
The problem it solves
Contracts start in other systems
Deals close in a CRM, hires are approved in an HR system, and orders land in a billing tool. Making someone copy details into a signing tool by hand is slow and error-prone. The API lets those systems send the envelope themselves.
What you get
- Every request is a POST with a JSON body.
- Envelopes: generate an upload link, create, set recipients, set fields, prefill, send (with an optional link expiry in days), remind, resend link, void, seal, view, download, direct links and inbox.
- Templates: create, roles, documents, fields, create an envelope from a template, and share.
- Folders: create, nest, file and un-file envelopes, and share.
- Envelope get returns full state, every recipient’s status and the whole audit trail.
- The signing inbox lists envelopes where you are a recipient, for a documents-awaiting-signature panel.
- CLI: envelope-list, envelope-get, envelope-view, envelope-download, envelope-direct-links, inbox-list, folder commands, contacts and company-members.
- Check completion by reading the envelope or listing envelopes by status.

FAQ
E-signature API and CLI: questions and answers
Does Autessa have an e-signature API?
Yes. The Poweruser API exposes envelopes, templates and folders over HTTPS, and the AutessaScript SDK offers the same inside Autessa.
How do I act when an envelope completes?
Read the envelope or list envelopes by status from a scheduled script, then file, notify or update records automatically.
Can I send envelopes from the CLI?
The CLI lists, inspects, downloads, reveals direct links and files envelopes into folders. Sending and editing happen in the web app, the API or scripts.
100% customizable, code and all
Make Autessa Document Signing fully your own.
Use it out of the box, then change anything. Ask Autobot, Autessa’s AI builder, for a new field, screen, report, workflow or agent and it builds it into your copy of the app. Or open the code and edit it yourself. Nothing is locked: the app, its data and its code are yours.
