Scripts and automations
The autessa.eSignature SDK lets AutessaScript drive e-signatures inside Autessa: a table trigger, a scheduled job, an agent tool or a custom app backend can create envelopes from templates, send them, remind signers and file the sealed PDF, with the same statuses and audit trail as the app.
The problem it solves
The repeat sends should send themselves
Onboarding every new client with the same engagement letter, issuing a renewal the week a subscription lapses, or chasing signers every Monday are jobs a person should not have to remember. Scripts make them automatic, using your templates and your rules.
What you get
- envelope.create, recipients, fields, prefill and send: the full lifecycle in a few calls.
- template.createEnvelope: assign people to roles and send, with order, policy, layout and CC roles from the template.
- Recipient ids you pass are what fields reference; signingGroup is the slot and, under SEQUENTIAL, the turn order.
- completionPolicy ALL or ANY_ONE; ANY_ONE with SEQUENTIAL is rejected.
- envelope.list by status shows collected versus required signatures; envelope.get returns full state and the audit trail.
- envelope.remind is a call like any other, so a scheduled job can chase signers on your cadence.
- envelope.download returns a short-lived URL to the sealed PDF.
- inbox.list returns envelopes where you are a recipient.

Every option
Common SDK calls
| Option | What it does |

| envelope.remind | Remind outstanding signers. |
| envelope.download | Short-lived URL to the sealed PDF. |

Permissions
Who can do what?
| Who | Can |
|---|---|
| API key or script | Acts with the access of the person or key it runs as, inside your company only. |
| Template READ | Enough to create envelopes from a shared template from automation. |
| Envelope PUBLISH | Needed to remind, void or mark as executed from code, the same as in the app. |
| Company admin | Controls which roles can use Document Signing at all. |
Agents can do it too
Because agent tools in Autessa are scripts, an agent can send an engagement letter from a template when asked, using the same SDK and the same permissions as the person or key it runs as.

FAQ
Scripts and automations: questions and answers
Can I send a contract automatically when a deal closes?
Yes. A script triggered by the deal can create an envelope from a template, assign the client to a role and send it.
Can I automate signing reminders?
Yes. A scheduled job can list sent envelopes and call envelope.remind on the ones you choose.
Are script-created envelopes different?
No. They have the same statuses, the same audit trail and the same sealed PDF as envelopes created in the app.
100% customizable, code and all
Make Autessa Document Signing fully your own.
Use it out of the box, then change anything. Ask Autobot, Autessa’s AI builder, for a new field, screen, report, workflow or agent and it builds it into your copy of the app. Or open the code and edit it yourself. Nothing is locked: the app, its data and its code are yours.
