Why session setup matters in a coding interview

Setting up a coding interview should take a minute, not a configuration wizard. Interviewers need the candidate, the languages and the plan, and the freedom to change the plan once the conversation starts.

// how it works

How does session setup work?

  1. Enter the candidate

    The candidate’s name, an optional email for your records, and a session title (default “Technical interview”).

  2. Choose languages

    Allow Python 3.12, Java 21 or both. The first one is where every question starts.

  3. Pick questions in order

    Pick from your bank, reorder with up and down, or remove. You can also skip this and add questions during the interview.

  4. Create the session

    You land in the live room, ready to copy the candidate link.

Session setup: questions

How do I send the link to the candidate?

Copy the link and send it however you already talk to the candidate. The email field keeps the address on your records.

Do I have to pick questions in advance?

No. You can create an empty session and add questions from the room during the interview.

Can a session allow only Java?

Yes. Choose any combination of the two languages, with at least one.

Create a session, send the link and see it working with a real candidate.
