Screen and camera recording · Autessa Video Creator
Nothing to install
Autessa Video Creator is a browser screen recorder: there is no desktop app, plugin or extension to install. It uses your browser’s built-in screen sharing and recording, picks the best format your browser supports (MP4 first, otherwise WebM) and uploads the result to your Autessa workspace.
The problem
Installs slow everyone down
Desktop recorders need installs, updates and IT approval, and the person who most needs to send a video is often on a locked-down laptop. A recorder that runs where people already work removes all of that.
What you get
- Nothing to download: open Video Creator in a modern desktop browser and record.
- Uses the browser’s own permission prompts for screen, camera and microphone, so you stay in control.
- Chooses MP4 when your browser can record it, and WebM otherwise.
- Uploads straight to your Autessa workspace when you save, with no export step.

Sign in to Autessa and open the Video Creator app.
Step 2. Grant permissions
Allow screen sharing, camera and microphone when the browser asks.

FAQ
Questions about nothing to install
Is there a Chrome extension or desktop app?
No. Video Creator runs in the browser tab itself, so there is nothing to install or keep updated.
Why did my video save as WebM?
Your browser could not record MP4, so Video Creator used WebM, which every modern browser can play.
Does recording work offline?
You can record without a stable connection, but saving uploads the video, so you need to be online to press Save draft.
