Microphone and system audio
Autessa Video Creator records your microphone and, when you choose Share audio, the sound from your screen or tab, and mixes them into one audio track. Your narration and the demo’s own sound play together, in sync with the video.
The problem
Half of a demo is what it sounds like
A product video with notification sounds, a call recording or a tutorial with background audio loses meaning on mute. Many quick recorders capture only the microphone. Video Creator mixes both sources live as you record.
What you get
- Your microphone is captured on every recording.
- System, window or tab audio is captured when you turn on Share audio in the browser’s share picker.
- Both sources are mixed into a single track while you record, so there is nothing to line up later.
- Trimming and cropping never touch the audio, because edits are applied at playback, not by re-encoding.
How it works
How does microphone and system audio work in Autessa Video Creator?
Step 1. Allow the microphone
During Set up sources, allow microphone access.
Step 2. Turn on Share audio
In the share picker, turn on Share audio if you want screen or tab sound too. A tip on the Record page reminds you.
Step 3. Record
Video Creator mixes your voice and the shared audio into one track as you record.
Every option
Audio options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Microphone | Always on; the browser’s default microphone. |
| Share audio | Off by default in most browsers. Turn it on in the share picker to include screen or tab sound. |
| Mixing | Automatic. Both sources become one track in the saved video. |
| After editing | Audio stays intact; trim and crop are applied at playback. |

FAQ
Questions about microphone and system audio
Why is there no sound from my screen?
Share audio was probably off. Turn on Share audio in the browser’s share picker when you set up sources. Some browsers only offer it for tabs or for an entire screen.
Will trimming cut my audio out of sync?
No. The original file is never re-encoded, so video and audio stay together and the trim simply limits what plays.
