Timer, limits and auto-stop

Autessa Video Creator shows a live REC timer against a 5-minute maximum and stops recording on its own when you reach the limit or stop sharing your screen. Each recording stays a short, watchable message.

A recording stops when

You press Stop
It reaches 5:00
You click “Stop sharing” in the browser

Then the Review step opens: trim, crop, title, and Save draft.

The problem

Long recordings do not get watched

Quick videos work because they are quick. A visible clock keeps the speaker focused, and a hard limit means no one receives a 40-minute recording that was meant to be a two-minute answer.

What you get

  • A pulsing REC badge shows elapsed time and the maximum, for example 01:42 / 05:00.
  • At 5 minutes the recording stops automatically and the Review step opens.
  • If you click Stop sharing in the browser, the recording stops cleanly instead of capturing a blank screen.
  • Stopping always keeps what you recorded so far; nothing is lost.

How it works

How does timer, limits and auto-stop work in Autessa Video Creator?

  1. Step 1. Start recording

The timer starts at 00:00 next to the 05:00 maximum.

  2. Step 2. Watch the clock

The badge updates every second in the corner of the stage.

  3. Step 3. Stop, or let it stop

Press Stop, stop sharing, or reach 5:00. The Review step opens with your recording.

How long can a recording be?

Up to 5 minutes. For longer walkthroughs, record a few short videos, which are also easier for viewers to find and rewatch.

What if I stop sharing by mistake?
