Visitor journeys
Autessa Analytics shows each person’s full journey on one page: how they first found you (source, campaign and referrer), their website and app sessions, a readable step-by-step timeline of every session, their profile and their survey answers. It is a customer journey view across your marketing site and your product.
The problem it solves
The story of a customer is spread across a dozen reports
The first visit is in a sources report, the booking is in a conversions report, the first week in the app is somewhere else. A person page brings it together in order: where they came from, what they read, what they clicked, when they signed up and what they built.
What you get
- Header: name, email, phone and company, with “Open in PostHog”.
- Tiles: first seen, website sessions, app sessions (last 90 days by default) and where they came from, including the campaign name.
- Journey: every session, newest first, with start time, where, company, source and campaign badges, length, pages and entry page.
- Open a session for a timeline of each step: pages, CTA and button clicks, nav links, conversions and milestones.
- Reading steps (sections seen, scroll milestones) collapse into one line such as “Read the page: saw 4 sections, scrolled 75%”, and identical steps merge with a count.
- Profile: funnel stage, how they were identified, first and latest source, first referrer.
- Survey answers, question by question.
How it works
How does visitor journeys work?
Open a person
From People, Conversions, a company page or a campaign’s leads.
See where they came from
The first source, first campaign and first referrer are on the tiles and the profile.
Scan the sessions
Each session shows whether it was on the website or in the app, how long it was and where it started. Show 30 more loads older sessions.
Expand a session
The timeline lists each step with its time, keeping it about decisions rather than every scroll event.
Watch it
Every session has a replay link.

Permissions
Who can do what?
| Who | Can |
|---|---|
| Anyone the app is shared with | Open every report, switch the date range, filter and search, and open people and replays in PostHog. |
| App admin | Share the app and its PostHog query tool with teammates, at read or edit level, and decide which tables they can change. |
Computed for you
A timeline you can read
Raw event streams are noisy. The timeline turns runs of reading events into one plain line, merges repeated steps with a count (“Clicked button ‘Next’ ×3”) and labels known events in words, such as “Demo booked” or “Agent published”.

FAQ
Questions about visitor journeys
Can I see one visitor’s journey across my website and app?
Yes. The person page lists every session on both, in order, with a step-by-step timeline for each one.
What happens to anonymous visits before someone signs up?
Visits that share the person’s identity in PostHog are part of their journey, so the first anonymous visits show once the person is identified.
Can I see a person’s survey answers?
Yes. The Survey answers card lists every question and answer they gave.
Can I open the person in PostHog?
Yes, from the link in the header.
