Member management and import

Autessa Community admins manage members from one table: search and filter by role and status, change a role inline, add a person before their first visit, import a roster from a CSV or text file with a preview, keep admin-only notes, and block or unblock an account with a reason.

The problem

A launch needs people set up before day one

On launch day you want departments filled in, moderators in place and the directory complete. Members join on their own when they first open the hub, but admins can set everything up in advance.

What you get

  • Members table with search across name, email and department, and filters by status and role.
  • Change a role (admin, moderator or member) right in the table.
  • See how each person joined (first person, on their own, or imported) and when they were last seen, or Never opened.
  • Add member: email, display name, department, title, role and admin-only notes.
  • Import members: paste or upload a .csv or .txt roster of email, name and department, preview it, then import.
  • Member detail: everything on file, admin-only notes, recent posts and actions.
  • Block a member with a reason, and unblock later; both are logged.

How it works

How does member management and import work in Autessa Community?

  1. Prepare the roster

Paste lines like email, name, department, or upload a CSV. A header row is detected and skipped.

  2. Preview and import

Check the preview, then import. Duplicates are skipped.

  3. Set roles

Make moderators and admins from the table or the member detail page.

  4. Handle problems

Block a member with a reason if needed. Blocked members can read but cannot post, comment, vote or message.

FAQ

Questions about member management and import

Do I have to invite every employee?

No. Everyone in your Autessa company joins as a member on their first visit. Adding or importing is only for setting details up in advance.

What file format does import take?

A .csv or .txt roster with email, name and department, pasted or uploaded, with a preview before import.

What does blocking do?

A blocked member can still read the hub but cannot post, comment, vote or send messages. The block and its reason are logged.

Who becomes the first admin?

The first person to open the hub becomes its admin. They can then make other admins and moderators.
