Roles and permissions

Autessa Community has three hub roles (admin, moderator and member) plus moderators chosen per community. Everyone in your company can join; the first person to open the hub becomes its admin, and blocked members can read but cannot post, comment, vote or send messages.

The problem

Clear roles keep moderation light

Too many permission settings and nobody knows who can do what; too few and every decision lands on one admin. Three roles plus community moderators covers how real companies run their communities.

What you get

  • Members post, comment, vote, message, report and edit unlocked wiki pages.
  • Moderators add hub-wide moderation and see the moderation desk in the admin console.
  • Admins add everything else: members, communities, tags, wiki admin and settings.
  • Community moderators moderate posts and wiki pages in their own community only.
  • Moderators only see the admin pages they can act on.
  • Blocked members keep read access but lose posting, commenting, voting and messaging.
  • There is no signup or approval queue: everyone in your company is a member from their first visit.

How it works

How does roles and permissions work in Autessa Community?

  1. The first admin arrives

The first person to open the hub becomes admin; starter content is created.

  2. Appoint moderators

Admins change roles in the members table, and pick community moderators on each community.

  3. Everyone else joins

Colleagues are members from their first visit.
