How does get a business phone number work?
Open Numbers & call flows
In the Phone app, a company admin opens Numbers & call flows and chooses Add a phone number, then Buy.
Take any number or pick one
Press Get a free number for the fastest path, or expand the area code search, type an area code and choose from the numbers offered.
Choose who answers
Point the number at an AI agent, a multi-agent, or a call flow that rings people, plays a keypad menu or takes voicemail. You can skip this and come back.
Share it with your team
Share the number with the company or with specific people. Anyone who calls out from it needs permission on that number.
Turn on texting when you are ready
Calls work immediately. Texting from a local number needs carrier registration first, which Autessa guides you through.

Is the number free?
Yes, you can get a US number free with no card needed. Calls are metered against your company's call minutes, and texting has carrier registration fees.
Which numbers can I get?
Buy US local numbers in a click, or link numbers from your own Twilio account. You can dial international numbers from the Keypad.
Does the number work right away?
Yes for calls: it takes calls as soon as it is yours. Texting from a local number starts once your carrier registration is approved.
