Call flow builder
Autessa Phone & Texting includes a call flow builder for every number. It decides what happens when someone calls: a greeting in text or recorded audio, then an AI agent, people to ring, a keypad menu (IVR), an ask-to-text step, voicemail or a polite hang-up.
The problem it solves
Every business answers the phone differently
A clinic wants a menu, a shop wants everyone's phones to ring, and a support line wants AI first and a person second. A fixed phone setup forces one shape. The call flow builder lets each number have its own, and change it without calling anyone.
What you get
- Start with a greeting typed as text or an uploaded MP3 or WAV file (or an https link to audio).
- Destinations: AI agent, AI multi-agent, Ring people, Keypad menu, Ask to text, Voicemail and Hang up.
- Every destination can play a message or audio first.
- Business hours send calls to a different destination when you are closed.
- Keypad menus can nest, so press 2 can open another menu.
- Ask to text lets a caller press a key to agree to texts, and records it as consent.
- Variables let you reuse the same flow and agent with different values per number.
How it works
How does call flow builder work?
Open the number
In Numbers & call flows, open a number and choose Set up a call flow or Edit call flow.
Write the greeting
Type what callers hear first, or upload your own recording.
Pick the destination
Choose where the call goes: an AI agent, people to ring, a keypad menu, ask to text, voicemail or hang up.
Add hours
Turn on business hours and choose a different destination for closed hours and holidays.
Save
The next call follows the new flow. Every call still lands in Calls, whoever answers.
Every option

| Ring people | Browser phones or cell numbers, all at once or one at a time. |
| Keypad menu | Press-a-key choices, each with its own destination. Can nest. |
| Ask to text | Caller presses a key to agree to texts; recorded as consent. |
| Voicemail | Greeting, maximum length, finish key, silence timeout and transcription. |
| Hang up | End the call, optionally after a message. |

Who can do what?
| Who | Can |
|---|---|
| Company admin (owner or Manage team members) | Open Numbers & call flows and build flows for any number. |

| People with Read on the number | See the flow without changing it. |
AI on the line
What AI agents do here
An AI agent can be any step: the first thing callers reach, only after hours, or what happens when someone presses 2. It gets the caller's number and name as variables, and can hand the call back to people with a transfer.
FAQ
Questions about call flow builder
What is a call flow?
A call flow is the set of steps a number follows for each call. In Autessa it starts with a greeting and goes to an AI agent, people to ring, a keypad menu, ask to text, voicemail or hang up.
Can I use my own recorded greeting?
Yes. Upload an MP3 or WAV file, or link to audio over https, instead of typed text.
Can AI answer first and people second?
Yes. Make the AI agent the first step and give it a transfer tool, or put people first and send unanswered calls to the agent.
Do changes take effect right away?
Yes. The next call after you save follows the new flow.
