Call flows and routing
Decide exactly what happens when someone calls: a greeting, business hours, a keypad menu, people to ring, an AI agent, voicemail, or a polite hang-up.
Why it matters
What does call flows and routing cover?
Build a call flow for each number: greeting, business hours and holidays, keypad menus (IVR), ring groups with press 1 to accept, voicemail and blocked callers.
Each number has a call flow that decides what happens when it rings: a greeting, then an AI agent, a keypad menu, a group of people, voicemail or a polite hang-up, with business hours and holidays deciding which path runs. It is the routing a traditional phone system gives you, with AI agents as one more place a call can go.
People and AI here
Company admins and people with Write on a number build its call flow. The people it rings answer in the browser or on their cell.
In one sentence each
- Call flow builder · The call flow builder decides what each number does with a call: greet the caller, then send them to an AI agent, ring people, offer a keypad menu, take a voicemail or hang up.
- Business hours and holidays · Set weekly hours and named closed dates in your own time zone, and calls outside them go wherever you choose, including straight to an AI agent.
- Ring people and ring groups · Ring a group of people at once or in order, on their browser phones or cells, with a whisper about who is calling and press 1 to accept so voicemail never takes the call.
- Keypad menus (IVR) · Keypad menus (IVR) let callers press a key to reach sales, support, an AI agent or voicemail, with nested menus, retries and friendly messages when they press the wrong key.
- Voicemail and transcription · Voicemail can be any step in a call flow, with your own greeting, automatic transcription and an email to up to five people for every new message.
- Blocked callers · Each number keeps its own blocked list, can reject anonymous callers, and plays blocked callers a short message or a busy signal.

FAQ
Questions about call flows and routing
What is a call flow?
A call flow is the set of steps a number follows for each call. In Autessa it starts with a greeting and goes to an AI agent, people to ring, a keypad menu, ask to text, voicemail or hang up.
Can calls go somewhere different after hours?
Yes. Each call flow has business hours and a closed-hours destination, such as an AI agent or voicemail.
Can several people be rung at once?
Yes. A Ring people step rings everyone at once, or one at a time if you prefer.
Does Autessa have an IVR?
Yes. Keypad menus let callers press keys 0 to 9, star or pound to reach a destination, and menus can nest.
Are voicemails transcribed?
Yes, when transcription is on. The transcript shows in the call drawer and in voicemail emails.
Can I block a phone number?
Yes. Each number has a blocked callers list in its call settings.
