Admin overview

Status Admin opens on an overview of exactly what customers see on your status page right now: the overall status, every component with a status picker, active incidents, maintenance scheduled or in progress, and how many changelog drafts are waiting. Changing a status here shows on the status page at once.

The problem it solves

In an incident, every extra click is a delay

The person updating the status page is usually also helping fix the problem. They need one screen that says what is public, lets them change it in one move, and gets them to the incident or the report form without hunting.

What you get

  • Overall status: All systems operational, Some systems are affected, Maintenance in progress or Major outage.
  • Every component with a status drop-down and when it last changed; hidden ones are labeled.
  • A confirmation like "API is now Partial outage" after each change.
  • Active incidents with start time, affected components and status.
  • Maintenance scheduled or in progress, with its window.
  • Changelog: "2 waiting for approval. Drafts are never published until someone approves them."
  • Open status page and Report an incident buttons at the top.

How it works

How does admin overview work?

  1. Open Status Admin

    It lands on the Overview.

  2. Read the overall status

The same answer the public banner is giving.

  3. Change a component

Pick a new status from its drop-down. It is saved and public immediately.

  4. Jump in

Open an active incident or maintenance window, report a new incident, or go to the changelog drafts.
