Changelog and release notes · Autessa Status Page
Human approval gate
Autessa Status Page never publishes an AI-written changelog entry on its own. Every entry waits for a person to approve it in Status Admin; the public changelog only returns approved entries, and that rule is enforced twice on the server. Approve, Unpublish, Skip this day and Restore draft each record who did it and when.
The problem it solves
AI drafts are fast. Public mistakes are forever.
An automatic changelog that publishes itself will, sooner or later, mention a customer, leak an internal name or describe a fix in a way that worries people. The safe design is not "be careful with the AI"; it is a gate the AI cannot open. Drafts can be written by machines, but only people can publish.
What you get
- Three states: Waiting for approval, Published and Skipped.
- Approve and publish asks for confirmation: "Check that it names no customers, people, internal systems or security details."
- Unpublish takes an entry off the public changelog and back to waiting.
- Skip this day keeps a day from ever being published; Restore draft brings it back.
- The nightly job can only insert drafts; it cannot approve.
- The public query is fixed to approved entries in its stored setup, and the public script checks the approval again.
- Approved by and Published time are shown in the Changelog list; edits record who and when.
- The Overview shows how many drafts are waiting.
How it works
How does human approval gate work?
A draft arrives
Shown as "Waiting for approval", with a banner: "Not published. Customers never see a day nobody approved."
A reviewer edits
Fix the headline and wording in the editor, with a live preview.
They approve
Approve and publish opens a confirmation with the safety checklist. Unsaved edits are saved first.
It is public
"Approved and published." The entry appears under its date, and the approver and time are recorded.
Second thoughts are fine
Unpublish returns it to waiting. Skip this day keeps a day off the changelog for good, until someone restores it.
Every option
Every changelog action
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save | Saves the wording. On a published entry, the public changelog shows the new wording. |
| Approve and publish | Confirmation, then state Published with approver and time. |
| Unpublish | Confirmation, then back to Waiting for approval and off the public page. |
| Skip this day | State Skipped. Never published. |
| Restore draft | A skipped day goes back to Waiting for approval. |
| Stamps | Drafted time, edited by and when, published by and when. |
| Public check 1 | The stored public query only selects approved entries. |
| Public check 2 | The public script drops anything not approved or without an approval time. |

Where AI helps
What the AI does, and where people decide
The AI writes the first draft and nothing else. It cannot save over an existing entry, change a state or publish. A reviewer can open "View the original draft" at any time to see exactly what the AI wrote before anyone edited it.
FAQ
Questions about human approval gate
How do I keep AI-written release notes from publishing by mistake?
Autessa Status Page does it for you: drafts can only be published by a person selecting Approve and publish, and the public page refuses anything not approved.
Can I unpublish an entry?
Yes. Unpublish removes it from the public changelog and returns it to Waiting for approval.
What does Skip this day do?
It marks the day Skipped so it is never published. Restore draft brings it back if you change your mind.
