Changelog and release notes · Autessa Status Page
Public changelog
Autessa Status Page includes a public changelog: a dated release-notes page on your status site, newest first, with each day's changes in New, Improved and Fixed sections. The latest entry is teased on the status page itself, so customers checking status also see what just shipped.
The problem it solves
Customers cannot use what they never hear about
Teams ship every day, but the work rarely reaches the people it was for. A changelog that lives next to your status page is where customers already look, and it shows a steady, honest stream of improvement alongside the incident record.
What you get
- A Changelog page: "What's new and improved, day by day."
- One entry per day, with the date, a headline and the release notes.
- Sections in a fixed order: New, Improved, Fixed.
- Release notes support headings, lists, bold, italic, code and links.
- Up to 100 entries at a time, with "Show older release notes" to page back further.
- A "Latest release notes" link on the status page with the newest date and headline.
- Only entries a person approved are ever shown.
How it works
How does public changelog work?
A draft is written
Each night from the day's merged pull requests, or by hand in Status Admin.
A person approves it
After editing the wording, a reviewer selects Approve and publish.
It appears on the changelog
Under its date, newest first.
It is teased on the status page
The newest approved entry shows in "Latest release notes" on the front page.
