Recurring entries
Autessa Accounting supports recurring journal entries: templates for rent, a subscription or a monthly accrual that post every week, every two weeks, every month, every quarter or every year. “Post what’s due” posts every template that has come due, catches up anything missed, and never posts the same run twice.
The problem
Re-keying the same entry every month
Rent and accruals are the same numbers every period, and forgetting one misstates a month. A template with a schedule removes the re-keying, and an idempotent run means clicking twice cannot double-post.
What you get
- A two-line entry: debit account, credit account and amount.
- Cadences: every week, every two weeks, every month, every quarter, every year.
- First run date, then the next run advances after each successful post.
- Post what’s due posts every template that has come due, catching up missed periods.
- Each run is recorded, so running the same day twice never double-posts.
- A failed post leaves the template due, not skipped.

FAQ
Questions about recurring entries
Can I schedule recurring entries?
Yes. Create a template with a cadence from weekly to yearly, and Post what’s due posts everything that has come due.
What if I forget to run them for a few months?
Post what’s due catches up every missed period.
Can it double-post?
No. Each run is recorded, so running it twice on the same day posts nothing new.
