UTM tracking links

Autessa Analytics builds a UTM tracking link for every post. Pick the page to link to and the channel, and the link carries the channel as the UTM source, the campaign as the UTM campaign and the post as the UTM medium, so every visit is credited to the exact post that sent it.

The problem it solves

Hand-typed UTM links break attribution

One person types “LinkedIn”, another “linkedin”, a third forgets the campaign entirely, and the report splits into pieces. Generated links use the same values every time, tied to the campaign and post records, so results line up automatically.

What you get

  • Get link on any post opens the link builder; a new post opens it automatically after you add it.
  • Page to link to: any URL on your site; a missing https:// is added.
  • Channel: LinkedIn, X, Email, Newsletter, Reddit, YouTube or Other.
  • The link sets utm_source to the channel, utm_campaign to the campaign and utm_medium to the post.
  • One-click copy.

How it works

How does utm tracking links work?

  1. Add a post

Name it, pick a channel and post date, add a goal, the copy or notes, and the published post’s URL if you have it.

  2. Pick the page

The link builder opens with your home page; change it to the landing page for this post.

  3. Copy the link

Paste it into the post, email or video description.

  4. Results attach themselves

Visits with that link appear on the campaign page under that post.

FAQ

Questions about utm tracking links

Does Autessa Analytics have a UTM link builder?

Yes. Every post has a Get link button that builds a UTM tracking link for the page you choose.

Which UTM parameters are set?

utm_source is the channel, utm_campaign identifies the campaign and utm_medium identifies the post.

Do old links keep working if I edit a post?

Yes. Links identify the campaign and post records, so renaming them does not break links already shared.
