Direct and group messages
Autessa Community includes direct messages and group conversations for employees. Message one colleague, or pick several and give the group a title, from the inbox, the people directory or a profile, and keep the conversation right next to the forum and the wiki.
The problem
A quick question should not need another app
When the forum lives in one tool and private messages in another, people lose the thread and the context. Built-in messages mean you can go from a post to a private follow-up with its author in one click.
What you get
- Direct messages with one colleague, or a group with as many people as you need and an optional title.
- Pick people from the company directory, including colleagues who have not opened the hub yet.
- An existing one-to-one conversation is reused, never duplicated.
- The inbox lists every conversation by latest activity with a preview and unread state.
- Threads show message bubbles with day separators, and new messages appear on their own while the tab is open.
- Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a new line, and the composer grows as you type.
- Attach files and react with emoji or custom image reactions.
- Report a message to the moderators; a removed message is hidden from every recipient.
How it works
How does direct and group messages work in Autessa Community?
Start a conversation
Press New message, find a colleague by name or email, add more for a group, and optionally title the group.
Send the first message
Write what you would like to say and send. One-to-one threads that already exist open instead of a new one.
Keep talking
Messages arrive live while the tab is visible. Reactions, attachments and day separators keep it readable.
Stay in the loop
If you step away, a weekday activity email tells you about new messages, unless you turned those emails off.

Can I message someone who has never opened the hub?
Yes. The directory includes everyone in your company, so you can message colleagues before their first visit.
