Writing and editing
One idea, a version per channel
In Content Studio a piece is one idea and each channel gets its own version with its own text, status, assignee and schedule; the piece's status rolls up from its least advanced version.
The problem
The same idea goes out as a LinkedIn post, an X thread, a blog post and a newsletter, and each one needs different words, a different status and often a different person.
One idea, a version per channel in Autessa Content Studio
Write one piece once as a brief, then give it a version for each channel, each with its own text, status, assignee and schedule, rolled up into one piece.
No. 01Step by step
How does it work, step by step?
- 1
Write the brief once
A piece holds the idea: title, brief (angle and key points), campaign, owner, tags, target date and priority.
- 2
Add a version per channel
Pick the channels it goes out on. Each version has its own text, status, assignee, schedule and published link, and starts from the channel’s structure template.
- 3
Let the status roll up
The piece’s status is its least advanced version, so a piece is only Published when every channel is.
- 4
Repurpose to fill the gaps
Use Repurpose with AI to write the missing channels from the brief or from one finished version.

No. 06Answers
One idea, a version per channel: questions
Straight answers about Autessa Content Studio.
What is the difference between a piece and a version?
A piece is one idea with its brief. A version is that idea written for one channel. One piece can have a version for every channel you post to.
Can different people write different channels?
Yes. Each version has its own assignee, so a social lead can own LinkedIn while a writer owns the blog.
When is a piece “Published”?
When all of its active channel versions are published. The piece shows its least advanced version’s status until then.
