Access log
Autessa Ethics Hotline keeps an append-only access log: every time a committee member opens or changes a case, and every committee or settings change, with who, what, when and which case. Entries can’t be edited or deleted, and each case also shows its own “Who opened or changed this case” trail.
Why it matters
Confidential only means something if access is accountable
Reporters trust a hotline because only a few people can read it. Auditors trust it because they can see that those few people are the only ones who did. An access log that nobody can edit is what turns “we keep reports confidential” into evidence.
What you get
- Every case open is logged, not just changes.
- Logged actions include report received, opened, state changed, assignee changed, resolution set, outcome edited, note added, reporter messaged, reporter message received, content purged and hotline test.
- Committee and settings changes are logged too, including the data key being set up.
- Entries can’t be edited or deleted by anyone in the workspace.
- Filter the log by case code; load more for older entries.
- Each case shows its own trail on the case page.
- Entries for cases a member is left out of are removed from their view.
How it works
How does access log work?
Something happens
A member opens a case, changes it, or changes the committee or settings; or a reporter writes.
An entry is written
With the time, the actor (or “Reporter”), the action, the case code and a short detail.
Review it any time
Open Access log, sort any column, or filter by a case code like ETH-7K3P.
Every option

| Committee and settings | Claimed the committee, Changed the committee, Changed settings, Set up the data key. |
| Testing | Ran a hotline test. |
| Columns | When, Who, What, Case, Detail; all sortable. |

FAQ
Questions about access log
Does the hotline log who viewed a report?
Yes. Every time a committee member opens a case it is logged, along with every change, so you can show exactly who read each report and when.
Can access log entries be deleted?
No. The access log is append-only; entries can’t be edited or deleted from the workspace.
Are settings changes logged?
Yes. Committee changes, settings changes and data key setup are all logged, and committee changes are also emailed to the committee.
