FAQ

Questions about running an ethics hotline

Who should be on an ethics hotline committee?

Usually two to five people independent of day-to-day management, such as a compliance officer, a legal lead, an HR leader and, for accounting concerns, an audit committee member. Autessa Ethics Hotline warns until at least two members are active.

Is an ethics hotline only for large companies?

No. Any organization that wants concerns raised early benefits, and many startups add one as part of SOC 2. Autessa Ethics Hotline is set up in minutes, so size is not a barrier.

Can contractors and vendors use the hotline?

Yes. Anyone with the hotline link can report; no account is needed. Share it wherever your policy says it should be available.

Should HR run the ethics hotline?

HR can be part of it, but reports should reach an independent committee so that concerns about HR, managers or executives have somewhere to go. Ethics Hotline sends reports only to the named committee, not to HR roles by default.

Whoever reports, it reaches the right people.

An anonymous reporting site for everyone, and a private, logged workspace for your ethics committee.
