Internal. The reporter doesn’t see it.

Why it matters

You can’t report on outcomes you never recorded

Boards and auditors ask how many reports were substantiated and what was done about them. If outcomes only live in people’s heads or in free-text notes, that question takes days. A resolution code per case makes the answer one export, and the summary keeps the context for anyone who reviews the case later.

What you get

  • Six resolution codes, plus Not decided while the case is open.
  • An internal outcome summary of up to 10,000 characters.
  • The reporter never sees the resolution or summary; they see the reporter-facing status.
  • Resolutions are included in the CSV export and kept after the case content is purged.
  • Saving the outcome is recorded in the access log (resolution set, outcome edited).

How it works

How does case outcomes work?

  1. Choose a resolution

From the Outcome card on the case page, at any point in the case.

  2. Write the summary

What was found and what was done. Internal; the reporter doesn’t see it.

  3. Save the outcome

The button shows Save outcome when there are changes and Saved when there are none.

  4. Move the case to Resolved or Closed

The resolution stays with the case for reporting.

FAQ

Questions about case outcomes

What resolution codes does the hotline use?

Six: Substantiated, Partly substantiated, Not substantiated, Not enough information, Not in scope, and Referred elsewhere.

Does the reporter see the outcome?

No. The resolution and summary are internal. The reporter sees the status, such as Resolved or Closed, and any message the committee chooses to send.

Is the outcome kept after a case is purged?

Yes. Purging removes the report text, reporter details, messages and notes, but the case code, category, dates and outcome stay for your records.

Give your people a safe way to speak up.

Every case records an outcome: a resolution, from substantiated to referred elsewhere, plus an internal summary of what was found and done.
