Search that only knows file names

The answer is usually inside a PDF named scan_0042. If search can’t read inside documents, people re-ask colleagues and agents guess.

  • Search inside PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, text, code, CSV, JSON and Markdown.
  • Files with more of your words rank first, then files with more matches, earlier pages and matching names; common words like “the” are ignored.
  • Results are grouped by file with highlighted snippets and their page and line.
  • Click a snippet to open the preview at that page.
  • Three modes: Search, Exact text and File name (with patterns such as *.pdf or invoice-2026-*).
  • A scope chip switches between the current folder and the whole drive.
  • Results only include files you can open; a file unshared from you disappears immediately.
  • Press / anywhere in the explorer to focus search.
