Document search →
- Search inside PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, text, code, CSV, JSON and Markdown.
- Files with more of your words rank first, then files with more matches, earlier pages and matching names; common words like “the” are ignored.
- Results are grouped by file with highlighted snippets and their page and line.
Exact text search →
- Find a specific string, clause number or ID across the drive or one folder.
- Optionally Match case.
- Each match is listed by file, page and line, with the matching text highlighted.
Semantic search →
- Turn on Semantic search in the drive’s Settings, under Search.
- The first search mode becomes Smart, combining meaning-based and keyword ranking.
- Existing files are indexed in the background; until a file is indexed, it is found by its words.
Text extraction and OCR →
- Text, code, CSV, JSON and Markdown keep their real line numbers.
- PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets and presentations are extracted page by page, so results point at a page and a line on that page.
- Scanned PDFs and images are read with OCR during extraction.

Questions about search and OCR
Does Autessa Drive search inside documents?
Yes. It searches the text of PDFs, Office files, text, code and data files, and shows highlighted snippets with the page and line.
Can I search for an exact phrase across all documents?
Yes. Switch the search box to Exact text, optionally turn on Match case, and Drive lists every match by file, page and line.
Does Autessa Drive have semantic search?
Yes, as an option per drive. Turn it on in the drive’s Settings, and the search box offers Smart mode, which combines meaning-based and keyword ranking.
Does Autessa Drive OCR scanned PDFs?
Yes. Scanned PDFs and images are read with OCR during extraction, so their text becomes searchable by page and line.
