What is in files and folders?
Company cloud storage with real folders, folder upload, a fast file explorer, version history and a trash that gives files back. Each feature has its own page with how it works, every option, who can do what and FAQs.
/files-and-folders/folders-and-filesFolders and files
Autessa Drive organizes company files in real folders with stable paths, creates new Word, Excel, slide and text files in place, and lets you add your own columns to any file.
/files-and-folders/uploadsFile and folder uploads
Autessa Drive uploads files and whole folder trees by drag and drop, resolves name conflicts with Keep both or Replace, and resumes large uploads after a dropped connection.
/files-and-folders/file-explorerFile explorer
The Autessa Drive explorer works like the one on your computer: a folder tree, list or grid, breadcrumbs, Space for quick look and shortcuts for everything.
/files-and-folders/versions-and-trashVersion history and trash
Autessa Drive keeps the newest 10 versions of every file by default and holds deleted items in the trash for 30 days, so any change, by a person or an agent, can be undone.

How Autessa Drive handles files and folders
Folders and files →
- A drive is a named, private space for your company’s files, created from AutessaDB with a name, a description and optional drive admins.
- Folders are real items: they can be empty, shared, moved and trashed like any file.
- Every item has a path, and names are unique within a folder regardless of case, so Report.pdf and report.pdf can’t sit side by side.
File and folder uploads →
- Drag files or entire folders onto the file list, or use Upload files and Upload folder in the New menu.
- Folder uploads recreate the full folder structure in the drive.
- On a name conflict, choose Keep both (adds a number) or Replace (saves the old content as a previous version), and tick Apply to all for the rest of the batch.
File explorer →
- The folder tree starts with the drive itself, then Shared with me and Trash, with a storage meter at the bottom.
- The file list has breadcrumbs, a New menu, a search box, a list or grid toggle and sort options.
- Press Space for Quick look: a thumbnail, details and an Open button, without leaving the folder.
Version history and trash →
- Replacing a file on upload keeps the old content as a previous version.
- Every save from an editor creates a new version; live co-editing saves are marked as live saves.
- Saves from Word, Excel or PowerPoint on your computer become versions of the same file, keeping comments and sharing.
