The Autessa Drive file explorer is a web file manager that behaves like the one on your computer: a folder tree on the left, a list or grid in the middle, breadcrumbs, sorting, a right-click menu, drag-and-drop moves and Quick look on the Space bar. Everything has a keyboard shortcut, and a phone-sized view covers browsing and sharing on the go.

Web drives often feel slower than a desktop folder

People abandon a shared drive when finding, previewing and moving files takes more clicks than their own laptop. If the explorer is fast and familiar, the company drive becomes the default place to work.

  • The folder tree starts with the drive itself, then Shared with me and Trash, with a storage meter at the bottom.
  • The file list has breadcrumbs, a New menu, a search box, a list or grid toggle and sort options.
  • Press Space for Quick look: a thumbnail, details and an Open button, without leaving the folder.
  • Drag items onto a folder in the list, the tree or the breadcrumbs to move them.
  • Right-click for Open, Download, Share, Copy link, Rename, Move to and Move to trash; select several items to share, move, download or trash them together.
  • Shortcuts: Enter opens, Backspace goes up, Space previews, F2 renames, Delete trashes, Ctrl+A selects all, / focuses search and Esc clears.
  • Comment counts and a searchability dot show on each file in the list.

How does file explorer work in Autessa Drive?

    Open AutessaDB, then Drive

    If your company has one drive it opens directly; otherwise pick one from the list of drives you can see.

    Browse and sort

    Use the tree or breadcrumbs, switch between list and grid, and sort by name, modified date, size or type.

    Preview without opening

    Select a file and press Space for Quick look. Press Enter or double-click to open the full viewer.

    Organize

    Drag to move, F2 to rename, Delete to trash. An Undo toast appears for a few seconds after a delete.

Questions about file explorer

Does Autessa Drive have keyboard shortcuts?
