Test numbers

Autessa AI Receptionist has test numbers: when a teammate calls your main line to try things out, the call is marked as a test, kept out of stats, summaries and caller memory, never blocked, and any urgent alert goes only to the person testing. Teammates' own numbers in Homebase count as test numbers automatically.

Urgent call [Test call]
now

Urgent call: you, (206) 555-0150. Testing a security incident report.

This was your own test call, so only you got this alert.

The problem it solves

Testing the front desk should not page the whole team

The best way to check a receptionist is to call it. But a test call about a "security incident" should not wake up your security lead, and a dozen test calls should not fill the morning email. Test numbers make trying it safe.

What you get

  • Teammates' own Homebase numbers are always test numbers.
  • Mark any other number as a test number on its caller page.
  • Test calls are kept out of the stat tiles and the morning summary.
  • Test calls are never remembered and never blocked.
  • Urgent alerts on a test call go only to the teammate testing, with "[Test call]" in the subject.
  • Test calls are hidden in the inbox unless you check "Show test calls", and carry a Test badge.

How it works

How does test numbers work?

  1. Call from your own phone

If your number is in Homebase, it is already a test number.

  2. Or mark a number

On a caller page, switch on "This is a teammate's test number" and save; earlier calls are retagged.

  3. Try anything

Ask to be put through, report something urgent, act like a vendor.

  4. Check the result

Check "Show test calls" in the inbox to see how the call was filed.

Can I call the AI receptionist to test it?

How do I mark another number as a test number?

Open its caller page, switch on "This is a teammate's test number" and save. Earlier calls from that number are retagged too.
