Autessa Redact opens PDFs, Office documents, emails and images. The problem
Converting everything to PDF before you can start
Many redaction tools only take PDFs, so every email and spreadsheet has to be printed to PDF first. Redact does that step for you: drop in the file as it is, and it opens ready to redact.
- PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OpenDocument files.
- RTF, HTML, plain text and Markdown.
- Emails as .eml and .msg.
- PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP, GIF and WebP images.

Questions about redact PDFs, Office files, email and images
Can I redact a Word document?
Yes. Upload the .doc or .docx file. Redact turns it into a page-accurate PDF to redact, and saves the redacted copy as a PDF.
Can I redact an email?
Yes. Upload the .eml or .msg file and it opens as a document to redact.
What is the largest file I can upload?
100 MB per file. For very large files, try splitting them or saving them as PDF first.
How do I redact video?
